Deploy Phase
What is the requirements role in the Deploy Phase?

The Deploy Phase of Managing Requirements brings the project to fruition after months of planning and preparation through the installation and activation of the approved product or service.

Implementation may occur in pre-scheduled stages, run concurrently with the existing system, undergo a pilot phase, or replace the current system immediately.

Users are notified of the implementation in writing. Notification includes the implementation schedule, an overview of the system benefits and changes from previous versions, and support personnel contact information.

Training is generally provided to users in order to ease transition, especially when the system is new or changes are major. Whether or not training is available--possibly due to funding restrictions--users should have access to Maintenance, Operations and User Manuals.

After notification and training, the system is installed and activated in a functional environment (as opposed to a controlled testing environment).

Users are encouraged to provide feedback, both positive and negative, that will be incorporated into a Post-Implementation Review. Problems with the new system should be addressed as soon as possible after they are identified and change implementation notices issued to users.
